Your Definition of Love

9/6/2017

You know there’s nothing like doing your own Girl’s Trip with your best girl’s and some new ones.  We laugh, joke, eat loads of food and drink and be or get merry cause when some of us get out of the confines of our everyday regimented lives—hey, the wild side or maybe I should say, Dr. Jekyll/Ms Hyde comes out.  But, mostly, it’s a time for girlfriends to bond and talk and talk and talk.  And this trip, the girl’s talked about the definition of love, what is love? Some said love is unconditional, love is tolerance, love is when you want to run away from the trials that test your love, but you don’t…

But in Love Has No Ending, love for Troy is fighting for what has been taken away from him and traumatically changed his life.

King Arthur:  Legend of the Sword - GREAT MOVIE!

5/27/2017

Well, I went to see the King Arthur movie.  GREAT!  GREAT!  GREAT!  I'm a true fan of Guy Ritchie.  The story was AWESOME.  Lots of action and the eye candy, O-M-G.  A list of hunks, Charlie Hunnam, Eric Bana, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, and the list goes on.  And don't forget the darling Astrid Berges-Frisbey.  I love the multicultural Knights of the Roundtable.  It's about time.  I love medieval or period pieces, but I do want inclusivity.  Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and my one and only question was, why did we not get a peek at Charlie Hunnam's signature item...  It's not a complaint, just a desire.

Networking, Why It is Important

5/8/2017

Today, I went to hang out with the fans for the premiere of King Arthur:Legend of the Sword.  Soooo many fans there to see Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, and Guy Ritchie just to name a few.  It was so crowded that I couldn't get a closeup, but it allowed me the opportunity to network and I met a wonderful upcoming actress, Esther.  She gave me the hookup on how to get interviews with celebrities because they want and love promoting their stories.  So, I'm working on getting you know who on a new talk show that I'm producing soon.  I will keep you posted.  Oh, forgot to mention, I met Normani Korbei from Dancing With the Stars at my first ballet class this past weekend.  We happen to be at the same dance school and I'm such a big fan of hers.  I told her that I had been voting for her.  She's so gorgeous, very courteous and sweet.  A real gem.  I would love to cast her for the character of Madi from my amazing suspenseful thriller, Love Has No Ending.  Thank God, I'm not shy cause networking is so important.

Who is Detective Shameus?

4/1/2017

PictureHandsome Ernie Hudson
He’s mid-50s to early 60s, a man who went through midlife crisis staring at everything that wore a short skirt and was 20 years his junior. He started a new family, his oldest from the first is 35 and his second marriage has rendered him two more, a 4- and a 2-year-old and now one more in the oven.  So, as I was working at 3am in the morning watching one of my favorite very great shows on Netflix, Grace and Frankie, and doing what I love writing, blogging, and simmering with ideas, in comes a hunk of a sexy man, beautiful full shapely lips, tall, dark, and a deeply mellow sounding voice that resonates from the screen.   An epiphanous moment, this gorgeous hunk of a guy, could he be my Detective Shameus who’s obsessed with catching Troy because he believes him to be a cunning, deceitful, murderer who has managed to remain a fugitive. Could it be this guy who never gives up like a hound dog, indelibly handsome and regretting his impulsive midlife crisis behavior decisions which caused him to end his 32-year-old marriage and start a new one, young family and all, all of four years?  But after all of the midlife foolishness, several good things made this impetuous man grow, revelation time.  He stopped smoking cigarettes or at least change habits.  Now he taps.  He doesn’t smoke them, but now he’s acquired a musical tapping habit—he continually taps e-cigarettes. He finishes things now. And now, a little too late, he realizes that he had the best thing ever, his first wife.  Hmmmmm… what’s cooking there?  Or should he be my Boz Stratford, a new character that I’m introducing… more to come in the second book of Love Has No Ending.  Would love your suggestions for Detective Shameus. What actor could you see as Detective Shameus (different spelling)?

Or maybe, Detective Shameus is another hotty, James Spader.

Ratchet or Substance

8/14/2016

This week while out at one of my favorite places, I overheard a lively but educational conversation among several men about their experience with women which captured my attention. Two men (looked to be from 25 – 35 years old) were talking about the kind of women they have met in their lives.  Who knew, I didn’t know men had conversations about women and not to that degree. The discussion evolved around how women handled betrayal. Well, one gentleman talked about women from a negative standpoint and the other positive, so I’ll call them, Mr. Negative and Mr. Positive. So, here goes. Mr. Negative felt that if a woman is betrayed they are going to retaliate. Some physically, verbally, and others very obscene or a combination of all. Mr. Positive commented that women react differently and it really depends on who the woman is.  If you hang with a “ratchet” woman, then the behavior is going to be the same, ratchet—loud, boisterous, and can be obscene, totally ignorant.  “It’s all about the selection,” he said. His experience had been that if he selected a woman who was on her “A” game—was going places, had goals, was achieving them and demanded the same of him, he had a different experience.  If he couldn’t keep up or stay focused, then she would dump him and that’s the kind of woman he wanted. He said all that to say, you get what you look for, ratchet or substance.  “It’s all about the selection.”  Your Thoughts?

REVIEWS: A GREAT MARKETING TOOL!

7/30/2016

Another 5-STAR review for Love Has No Ending (An M. RéShor Novel). “OMG…The narrative jumps off the pages and captivates your imagination. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, you haven’t! RéShor masters the essence of suspense, weaving an intriguing story right up to the astonishing end.” When marketing, Reviews! Reviews! Reviews can make a difference. That’s what Cheryl Rodriquez from Readers’ Favorite said about the book.  Aside from marketing directly, reviews from readers is another great tool for getting the word out about a book.  So I’m challenging the first twenty peeps to contact me and request an eBook of Love Has No Ending via my website at FOLLOW ME www.lovehasnoending.com. I'll send you a free eBook.

STORY - MY GOODNESS, LOCATION DEFINITELY NAILS IT

7/17/2016

A couple of months ago, I took a location and research trip to Kentucky.  OMG, what I saw and experienced could never have been described in words had I not seen it, LIVE!  Fun, great place for mystery, action, and discovering new characters. LOCATION! LOCATION! AND LOCATION! Next trip, a different location, is going to put the icing on the cake--the finale of spinning a web of intrigue and suspense to this masterful second book of Love Has No Ending (An M. RéShor Novel).

What’s Your Writing Brain Food?

4/16/2016

Ever have a favorite food or eat something that salivates your palette sending messages to your brain to think of all sorts of things.  Well, there is a bakery that I love to patronize, The Good Cake Company.  And every time, I go in there, the baker has a sweet treat that I haven’t tried and of course my favorites that just send wonderful messages that tantalize my brain.  My brainwaves just seem to react and I come up with ideas for present and new stories.  So, what’s your favorite writing brain food or the food that motivates, rejuvenates, and excites you to charge on and complete or start something?

"Hmmmm, I Didn't See that Coming"

4/2/2016

Defining and peeling those layers of personality traits and secrets that we may want to remain hidden is what makes a great character interesting and even exciting.  It’s his or her elusiveness that adds the mystery and thriller.  Defining Troy was a little difficult because I wanted to introduce a good guy who had some hidden secrets that had not been explored.  I hope I have achieved that because I want the reader to get to the finish line saying, “Hmmmmm, I didn’t see that coming.”

Music Inspires My Writing

1/30/2016

Music often inspires my writing. So, I was listening to several songs and different artists, when I came across these strong women singing and I wanted to share them with you. They blew me away. I'm writing a scene where Dora is reassuring her young lover and colleague that he is special to her.  For he is feeling somewhat threatened about Detective Shameus' return into Dora's life. Especially after he hears Detective Shameus say to Dora, "I'm still your friend" as he leaves her office.  Reminisce, and I would love your thoughts and comments.
