For the past several days, I have been without a computer (my computer went kaput). Well, I put the computer in the shop for repairing. Of course, because my computer is glued to my hip when it comes to writing, and it was going to take a little time for repairing, I immediately purchased another. Especially, because I tried using my phone which was semi-okay, smaller keys sometimes made it rather cumbersome, and writing manually for me is sometimes inefficient (everything written has to be reentered into the computer, slightly impatient with redundancy). Hmmm... I thought, whenever I call customer service about anything be it products for sale, insurance, flight questions, business, etc. and I'm asked to wait, call back, or put on hold because the computer is not processing or slowly processing or get a message on the computer that the computer Is temporarily down for maintenance and I can't access anything, I concluded that maybe we are becoming a computer dependent society. Will we become like the humans in H.G. Wells, "The Time Machine," thoughtless, incapable of performing or thinking because someone or something does it for us? Hmmmm, I ponder. What do you think?

Well, I've been up since 2am which is my usual habit with the intent of writing and I did, but when I took a break around 3:30am (surfing the web), I found some interesting tidbits for authors. One is the Reading Divas Book Club located in Washington, D.C. The leader, Sharon Lucas had a very interesting blog and a plethora of notes about the goings on and happenings with their book club. As a matter of fact, the group is sponsoring an author's event during the same weekend that I will be in Vegas and I would love to attend. But all is not lost, I can donate a book for a giveaway and of course I will do that. But if you are in the DC area Oct 16-17. Sounds like it will be a rocking weekend for authors and readers. And lastly, there was mention of the largest event for authors to showcase their books, network, and learn about the business and art of writing books. Authors from around the world will swarm this event. That's the BEA (BookExpo America) which will be in Chicago, May 11-13, 2016. My goal is to be there, hopefully, with Book 2 of the continuation of the Love Has No Ending trilogy. See you there! Send me an email if you'll be there, too. Cheers!
